Hello world!

Like most artists, I’ve always enjoyed any opportunity to practice art. From early on, drawing, painting, forming was a love to me. Now drawings, ink works, paintings and more are a real joy to create.

Never able to have formal training, opportunities have come my way, and at this time I’m a full time artist at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. There I was trained in metal working, using tools and machines from the 1800’s to recreate items from the earliest times of tin. I was the Village Tin Smith for 5 years when the opportunity to apprentice as a pottery decorator in the Village opened up. I greatly enjoy taking a lump of clay, turning it into a plate, decorating it, then a month later seeing it in the gift shop.

The pottery and tin are not available to purchase on my website, they are here just as examples. You can only purchase my pottery and tin through the gift shops of The Henry Ford. http://thehenryford.org/. If you are lucky enough to visit THF, be sure and stop in and say hello!

As much fun as I have working as Americans did in the 16, 17, and 1800’s, I also enjoy this era, doing graphic arts.  I love what my computer can do. As much fun as I have in Photoshop or in Illustrator, building a website is a whole other world to me, and will be a work in progress I’m afraid. As I launch my newest site before it’s even complete, please forgive what it’s lacking.

Please feel free to leave feedback, and I appreciate you for taking the time and having a look at my little gallery on the web.
